Hello ladies and gents and welcome to “Get it On”, which is replacing “Product Lust” as my reoccurring feature on my latest fashion obsessions. As a graphic designer I don’t just read fashion magazines for the layout and the ads (though I do love the ads!), I read them because I love fashion. To me, design aesthetics don’t stop with the color palette or fonts that I choose. What I wear is just another excuse for creative expression!
I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is next week, and as a result, I’m starting to think about what to wear to holiday parties. I’ve been really into mixing textures, like wearing a black dress with black beaded necklaces (like this one from Evil Pawn) and a black, bouclé cropped jacket. I’ve also been really excited about jewel tones for the colder months, as well as continuing to wear leopard print, and maybe even a little faux fur if I want to feel ultra luxe.
Below are some things that have caught my, eye, starting (of course) with shoes.

- Destiny heels, by Paris Hilton. I’m digging the festive giant bow with the croc embossed leather. You can find these at Zappos.
- Santa baby, forget rings, please bring me the Christian Louboutin Lady Page pump!
- The above Catherine Malandrino dress would be so fantastic for a party, especially one where I might want to network. I adore the sleeves! Combine this with patterned tights and a glittery clutch and make an impression!
- I’m also totally in love with this retro inspired little number from Please Me Bootique. The emerald green color is so gorgeous and that neckline would look amazing on just about anyone!
- Act out all your leading lady fantasies in this blazer from Elizabeth & James. It’s a hybrid of 1940’s noir and the 1980’s Blade Runner version of noir — not surprising since the 80’s have been making a huge comeback. It’s a great feminine shape that I just adore — and would be chic with jeans or a pencil skirt, depending on the kind of party it is.
So there’s a smattering of what’s been catching my eye. As the party invites start rolling in, I am definitely going to be adding some new pieces to the mix!

I don’t know why it took me so long to get the new site updated in my Google reader, but I’m here and I LOVE “Get it on.” You have a great eye for fashion – I especially adore both shoes and the Catherine Malandrino dress. Tres tres chic!
